The Antidote to Post-Concert Depression

It’s natural to have the blues after seeing BTS live in concert.

After breathing the same air as Park Jimin, the return to ordinary life can feel like a bit of a letdown.

But what if you could bring some of that concert energy into your daily life?

ARIRANG brought out the radiance that was already alive in you. Radiance that you can access on a day-to-day basis.

How, though? How do we harness the positive vibes we felt in the stadium and make every day feel a little like a BTS concert?

Don’t worry. I’ve got you.

TIME OF MY LEAF

I saw BTS in Los Angeles and it was glorious!

I had work obligations for all the other tour dates, so I went all-in on seeing ARIRANG at SoFi. I got tickets for D2 and D4, rented a cute little Airbnb near the stadium, and set aside a week of vacation dedicated entirely to Bangtan.

Beyond the concerts, I made time to see friends and family in LA and went to a few ARMY events – including a throwback BTS dance class!

I ABSOLUTELY HAD THE TIME OF MY LEAF. 🍃

But now that it’s over, I do feel … deflated.

And of course I do.

I’d been giddy with anticipation since the tour announcement in January. I’d happily consumed all the ARIRANG content I could get my hands on through the first six months of the tour.

And the DELIGHT I experienced at the show itself was so BIG that going back to the Merry Go Round of daily life feels like disappointment.

I know I’m not the only ARMY feeling this. I’ve heard much discussion online around PCD, AKA post-concert depression.

And while I wouldn’t go so far as to say I’m depressed, I do feel unmotivated. Maybe post-concert MEH is more accurate in my case.

But whatever you call it, it doesn’t feel good. So, I got to thinking – what can we do about it?

PLEASE GIVE ME A REMEDY

Right there on my bookshelf was The Desire Map by Danielle LaPorte (which you can learn more about HERE, if you’re interested).

In it, she shares a system for setting goals based on how you want to feel—which makes a lot more sense than choosing aims based on what we think we SHOULD want … and hoping we’ll feel fulfilled and happy when we succeed.

So, I wondered if I could apply that idea to being ARMY right now.

I asked myself…

  • What did I FEEL during the concert (and concert-adjacent activities) that made the experience so special?
  • Could I translate those FEELINGS into ACTION? How might I bring the joy, energy, and connection I felt during ARIRANG into my daily life?

In a nutshell, I want to leverage the feelings of awe and inspiration I felt at ARIRANG to build better habits and set new aims … with the goal of making every day feel a little like a BTS concert.

To that end, I created a free workshop I’m calling The Antidote to Post-Concert Depression.

The workshop walks you through the process of identifying the positive feelings BTS brought out in you and discerning how to keep those feelings alive now that the North American leg of the tour is over.

It only takes 15 to 20 minutes to work through, and when you’re finished, you’ll have 3 concrete, specific goals or habits to incorporate into your daily routine. Habits that will replicate the good vibes you experienced at ARIRANG.

If you’re interested in turning your PCD into PCM (post-concert momentum!!), you have a couple of options:

  1. The independent study version of the workshop is available HERE. Register for free and work through the process at your convenience.
  2. If you want to join other Auntie ARMY and work through the process together, email me at [email protected] with your availability, and I’ll send you a Zoom link.

Tentative calls are scheduled for 11/5 at 7pm CST and 11/7 at 11am CST and will last about 30 minutes.

So, who’s ready to reconnect with the joyful, inspired, vibrant version of YOU who showed up at the BTS concert? Me, too!!

See you at the workshop, ARMY. 😉
